Only one week until the Impact Conference. It will be fun to have the opportunity to influence even a small group of people with God's heart for the nations.
Tomorrow I will be preaching my last message for the year and for a very long time at the church of my boyhood. It is sad to leave behind memories but it is also joyful to enter this new stage in life. While thinking about all the uncertainty of the future and the certainty of the sacrifices I will have to make I am encouraged by the words of the Moravians "May the Lamb that was slain receive the reward of his suffering".

Tonight will be the last night of the mentoring group I'm involved with. We have spent 7 weeks hearing from God. I wonder whats going to happen tonight? My human mind says something incredible but that is just because it is "The last night". You always expect everything to end in a climax. What if nothing happened tonight? Would that just be God showing us how unpredictable he is?
These next few weeks are jam packed with stuff. Ethiopia budget. Ministry planning. Oh and I still have to go Christmas shopping! Aaaagh! I rebel against this materialistic holiday and all of the busyness that comes with it.

If this site to you has taken a turn in an obvious spiritual direction..good. For me writing is therapeutic and maybe by putting it on the web it will be therapeutic for others. There will still be updates on what I am doing but from time to time I will write what God is doing in me.
Today I hang with Club Revelation. The ministry that my church has at the local community college El Camino.
We will discuss plans for next semester and what God is doing and wants to do at the school.

What if everything just stopped? What if I was out on the street? Nobody to help me. Everyone turned their backs on me. Their was a revivalist in China by the name of John Sung who was so enamored with Christ that he was thrown in the mental ward for 6 mo's. All he had in that ward was a Bible and a fountain pen. When they finally let him out he couldn't help but go all out for Christ. He was shut up to God. Lock the door on me Lord.

I will bring the blind by a way that they do not know; i will lead them in paths they have not known: I will make darkness light before them and crooked things straight. These things will I do for them and willnot forsake them. Isaiah 42:16
Man I feel blind. So much running around has got me tired and immobile. What to do next? I know. Wait on God. It's funny but when you spend time with God no matter how long you do it you feel energized. If I stay up all night watching TV I feel like crap the next morning but if I stay up all night in prayer I feel like superman.
Why do we make the excuse of being to tired/hungry/or whatever when it comes to loving God?
I know that anytime I was in love with a girl it didn't matter when she called me I would stay up all night just to talk and be with her. Then turn around and go to work the next morning. But God is deserving of less?
Oh God give us a hunger for you that throws aside all distractions of emails, phone calls, TV shows, errands to run, even our precious church work. These things are not as valuable as you. We could hear 1000 new songs and see many more brand spankin new videos but they are all dung when compared to the knowledge of You and your Son Jesus Christ. We throw away all excuses. We could never be too tired or too humgry or too stressed but only too engrossed in ourselves. Forgive us of our selfishness and give us a new vision. A vision of Christ who is our life, who is our all. Amen.

Finally got the links hooked up right on this page. HTML is a killer for us non detail oriented people.
Well my good friend Michelle Williams is in town and she wants to hang out. I was thinking about Ethiopian food but she said somethin about Cedric the entertainer doin something. I don't know we will see where the day takes us. I just know I need a haircut. This must be the week of good friends because I got a call from a good friend Viviana. We caught up with each other and talked about hooking up.
Right now the Impact Conference is fast approaching. It is the only place that I know of where two thousand plus black college students and professionals all meet together to learn and celebrate what God is doing in the nation and around the globe among the African Diaspora. I work with a guy named Bobby Herron on moblizing black college students for missions/pilgrimages. Some people got asked to do the historical aspect and others were asked to do the biblical aspect but we got the easy task of the radical vision and motivation aspect. Which means we have to rock their worlds and shake up their paradigms and annihilate some strongholds.

It's hard to find Christianity from an eastern viewpoint but Sadhu Sundar Sing takes following Christ to a whole other level. Not as academic as it is practical and spiritual. To me Sadhu runs circles around the seminary professors and apologetix gurus on being dangerous for Christ. Check out the website The Sadhu It's the bomb

Here are questions that I posted on our churches forum. It made me think about how much I am addicted to the culture of church as compared to the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
What if we all met in homes but outside of our homes our lives were not reflecting what we talked about during the meetings in our homes?
What if we met in the park but we never saw each others face just the face of one person?
What if we said that our main goal was telling other people about Christ but all our $money$ was used to buy another home so people can come and here our great spectacular presentation about Christ ?
Do you think we would be doing the same thing that the apostles and the early church were doing?
Hmmmm......
