Here is an interesting essay on the Matrix from a Christian perspective. I honestly have never heard it put like that. I had a similar idea about Neo from the scripture in John 8 "You will know the truth and the truth will set you free. That's my prayer right now "that I would know the truth and be set free".

I can't wait until the Matrix 2 comes out.

We had Club Rush day on campus. It started off slow but I got into some interesting conversations with some people on campus. One guy, Brandon, played the fiddle, spoke gaelic, and wanted to major in bioengineering.

That's what it is all about. Getting to know God and introducing him to people. I also past out alot of flyers for our church's plugged in service. It's called Expressions. The music is going to have a hip hop feel to it.
Here's more info

Ok I'm entering into a new level of spirituality here. I'm not trying as hard as I used to. Now devotions are a thing of the past...Why? My life is devotion. I still wake up in the morning and praise God and interact with the Holy Spirit but it's not to gurantee a good day or a sinless day. It's because I'm madly in love with God. Trying is a thing of the past. It's all about trusting.

It's been a rough week. Between preparing my sermon, getting a rehearsal date for our band, finding a president for the christian club on campus, and the ever present reality of doing the things a normal guy is supposed to do I have not had time to hop on the computer and bloggyblog away. This weekend I housesat for my Pastor Joseph Olson. The funny thing about it after all of these things were straightened out the highlight of my week was that a guy named Steve came to Christ. That's what makes it all worthwhile.

I know I promised to post my sermon notes but that's a little too much. I get my info on the african saints from the website of a church called St. Mary of Egypt. Doing this study helps me dig into my church history and my african history. Alot of the christian philosophy and certain things we do were shaped in North Africa during these years. Like monasticism or being a monk, solitude, fasting. These guys were sold out to Christ.

Met with the missions guys for Vineyard on Thursday. They were more relational than I thought and they really inspired me.

Right now I am just focusing on Christ and realizing that ministry or just plain old living is not about me but about Him and what he wants to do. This is not about my gifts and talents but its about His purpose and His time. The Lord's purpose will be accomplished with or without me.

Ok. It is very awkward to preach in a coffehouse setting as opposed to the rockin storefront that I'm used too. I'm used to a much more vocal audience. Well I guess it takes some more adjustment.

Thought for the day "Every challenge is an opportunity for change"
