Ok. Once again. It's been more than a week since I last blog. I am trying to get it to where I can get my pix up a bit more easily so I bought a scanner.

We will see if the Lord can give me a high tech anointing or I will just have to call some of my buddies at VX.

Just came back from Mammoth Lakes Resort. Did some serious hiking. Learned about conflict resolution and ate some delicious food thanks to Julie Olson the wife of my Pastor Joseph Olson and Tim Henson AKA The Renaissance man.

I am worn out and beatdown but VX rules!!!

Africa could lead the world

So says Gambian House minority leader Halifah Sallah in an article for AllAfrica.com.

He said culture is an integer of development and that because of colonialism, "we were indoctrinated to appreciate a foreign culture and regard our own culture as nothing."

He said Western culture "makes us hate ourselves, our language and it also divides us. Western culture
would never liberate Africans. And without a sense of our own culture, there could be no
meaningful development. That's why they deprive us of our culture," he said.

The sociologist observed that in order to be completely liberated, a sound economic policy must be
created. "We have already achieved mental liberation, we also need to create a people and an economy, if
that could be done, then Africa has the possibility to lead the world."

"Let us show the world that Africa is a giant awakening and that those who help us will be doing themselves a great favour....Dictators beware, Africa will be free. "

- Archbishop Desmond Tutu, October 1997

That's what I'm talking about. Preach the word Bishop Tutu.

I am about to change the name of this site and also get a scanner so I can get some of my old and recent pictures up. I think Im going to rename it Ethiopian dreams.

The reason for the renaming of it is that my focus had gotten a little off because of the hustle and bustle of
everyday life. It left me feeling dead inside but when Mother Ethiopia is in my sight then I come alive. So in order to keep the fire of the vision burning I think a renaming is in order

Ethiopia I won't let you go.

I miss my habesha peoples. Today I read some of John Eldredge's book The Journey of Desire and I just thought about my chief desire and that is the highlands of ethiopia and the people that live there.

Things to make you stop and think

1. Only in America......can a pizza get to your house faster than an ambulance.

2. Only in America......are there handicap parking places in front of a skating rink.

3. Only in America......do drugstores make the sick walk all the way tothe back of the store to get their prescriptions while healthy people can buy cigarettes at the front.

4. Only in America......do people order double cheeseburgers, large fries, and a diet coke.

5. Only in America......do banks leave both doors open and then chain the pens to the counters.

6. Only in America......do we leave cars worth thousands of dollars inthedriveway and put our useless junk in the garage.

7. Only in America......do we use answering machines to screen calls and then have call waiting so we won't miss a call from someone we didn't want to talk to in the first place.

8. Only in America......do we buy hot dogs in packages of ten and buns in packages of eight.

9. Only in America......do we use the word 'politics' to describe the process so well: 'Poli' in Latin meaning 'many' and 'tics' meaning 'bloodsucking creatures'.

10. Only in America......do they have drive-up ATM machines with Braillelettering.

That's America for you.

exhausted is the word to best describe me even as I am writing I feel the sleep fairies dust on my eyes.

Pretty soon we will have some dates for returning to Ethiopia to do look at what God is doing and see how we can join in. It's looking like an all guy thing. Although I wouldn't mind the women joining us. In the kingdom there is no male or female...at least that's what Paul said.
