The very highest leader is barely known by men
Then comes the leader they know and love
Then the leader they fear
Then the leader they despise
The leader who does not trust enough will not be trusted
When actions are performed without unnecessary speech
The people say we did it ourselves.

It's back to school time everywhere including Addis. Here is an article that lets you know the challenges of most college students in Ethiopia.

Thought provoking questions
Are u a mature christian?
If the answer is yes:
Who have you discipled or mentored?
Who have you led to Christ?
Reproduction is a mark of maturity

This is the life right here. Sometimes I dream of just tending sheep on the nearby hills and coming here for a shower :)

Did you know that over 3 million people in Ethiopia are infected with HIV/AIDS?
850,000 children are also orphaned by this terrible disease. My question is:
Where is the church???....

Here is some of what I talked about during my campus, community, world talk.
God has a big vision for the world
World Population: 6 billion people and growing
One third of earth's people call themselves Christians.
680 million (11.5%) are Evangelicals or Bible reading Christians.
-There are an estimated 10,000 unreached people groups worldwide, which still need missionaries to plant Christ's church among them.
Translation: Alot of people still don't know Jesus and alot have never even heard his name

This past week has been a blessing. Went to the Little Ethiopia area of West LA
and filled up on Injera.
It looks like a big pancake and tibbs ( sauteed lamb-my personal favorite!)
Then on Sunday I spoke at church about our church's vision for missions: Campus, Community, World.

My band Liberal Artists performed tonight at Azusa Pacific University. Kind of rusty but we rocked the mic anyway.
Next we do Horizons Community Church on the 21st. Its an outreach with In n Out burgers and everything!
Praise God for IN n' Out. That's really what the Israelites received in the wilderness.

Ethiopia's tourism has been improving. So says this article in AllAfrica.com. I believe this is a sign of things to come. Maybe it will become a travel destination on the same level as Kenya.

Maybe my idea for a coffeehouse/hangout/internet cafe in will be a better alternative to the growing problem of strip joints in Addis.

Went to the African marketplace today. It was pretty interesting. All the cultures of the African Diaspora in one spot! Lots of opportunities to network, learn a little somethin, and just chill. Next year I think I want to be a vendor although I don't know how to do that???
