Here is what God has given me to define what we want to see happen in Ethiopia and possibly future missionary pilgrimages to other lands

Campus, Community, World

I. Touch the Campus

We desire to make disciples of high school and college students for they are the future leaders and shapers of thought for the world. The college graduate will be placed in positions of influence in his career field of study. They are the harvest and the laborers. This means that not only are they a specific audience and focus in terms of evangelism and discipleship but they also will provide the manpower to reach their peers and others.

II. Transform the community

By owning a cafe where students can come and hang out, use the internet, check out books, and showcase their talents
we will be able to:
A. Provide a contextualized and natural environment where the gospel can be shared relationally
B.Provide a place to meet as a local church and also a place to conduct training, prayer etc.
C.Generate money for development and missions and therefore creating self sustaining ministry
D.Generate jobs and future business(men) who want to expand on their own and therefore improving economic conditions

III. Turn the world upside down

We want to turn the world upside down by generating money for missions to the unreached, the lightly evangelized and the harvest field in Africa and around the world. Non western missionaries can gain access to certain countries that westerners cannot. We also desire to broadcast events via the internet and also bless others through short term trips with the richness of the ethiopian christian experience.

One of the unique realtities of being raised in a christian home "The Halloween Debate"

I never really liked the whole powers of darkness thing but I like the dressing up. Maybe I could just declare everyday Halloween and walk around dressed like Frodo from the Lord of the Rings :)

What do you think about Christians celebrating Halloween? Is this ok or are we aligning ourselves with the powers of darkness
Let me know and email me.

Life together in community is what we are called to as christians and also as people made in God's image. The Bruderhof communities have been living this special way of life since before World War II. Check out their site

Let us pray for the situation in Ethiopia and Eritrea concerning the border dispute

Pray that the two leaders will not lead their countries into war and that the Prince of peace would reign sovereignly over both nations and throughout Africa

Our Time is Now

Follow the path of the Nazarene, the narrow road
Enter in at the narrow gate
Find yourself as you lose yourself
Shake the dust off your feet
As you leave this city, this matrix, this system
And head towards Zion
It is not for everyone
But only for those who accept the invitation
To dive into the ocean of Light
The Kingdom is here
Now watch the world as we know it unravel
and see the mystery kept hidden for ages
Truth
Under words that have twisted a whole nation
For a king they waited and waited
Dazed and confused
They waited and waited
For something they did not understand
They waited and waited
But our time is now

The time has come" he said. "The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news!" Mark 1:15

The burden that I bear and the vision that I see continue to make me realize the importance of prayer. Not as an afterthought but as the only way to make any ground in advancing the kingdom of God. I love this logo from the 24-7 prayer guys. This really communicates there vision a sun and a moon with flames on the outside. The fire of God 24-7. It can only come through prayer.

Knowing about Ethiopia's rich monastic tradition I wonder is Ethiopia ready for the new millenium monastery? It's already happening in England. Check out what's going on in the Boiler Rooms

C.H.Spurgeon the greatest preacher of the late 19th Century, attributed the fruitfulness of his entire ministry to his ‘Boiler Rooms’. These were prayer rooms – often in the basement of whatever building he was speaking in – where people would intercede as Spurgeon preached.

I figure Im not better than Spurgeon :) so I have sent out a trumpet call for twenty five intercessors to pray for the ministry and although they are not all in the same spot they can still touch and agree in the Spirit and get the job done.

Guess what m8's. Ethiopia has a new Fanta. Yes that is what this nation needs more soft drinks that destroy people's kidneys. Yeaaaah!
On a serious note this is what they have said will add more happiness to the life of Ethiopian teenagers. I think Fanta is being highly overestimated.
You can read more about the release of Fanta Lominat for Ethiopia

Back in the jungle of life again. Back to the jungle of blogging again.

The conference was great and someone told me that I haven't escaped God's eye. That was really encouraging. Sometimes I feel that Ethiopia and alll of Africa is being neglected by the world at large God has not forgotten us.

Here is the new food programme for Ethiopia designed to break people from dependency on aid. It's about time. I guess God has not forgotten us.
